My second week went by fairly quick. At many occasions I had to use my french knowledge to aid guests, the self-serve baggage drop-off shoots were down a couple times and I met the sweetest little girl.
Whenever I help a guest that has a heavy french accent, I just try to make it easier for them and help them in french. There was a lady I met on Thursday, she was coming back from Cancun, Mexico. She could only say a few words in english and she wasn't even supposed to be flying into YYZ. Air Transat booked her flight to YUL via YYZ with WestJet because there was a seat that was broken. She had been travelling all day and she was very tired and confused as to where she needed to go next. When I told her I speak french she was so relieved and I was able to help her. I've also let my colleagues know that I speak french so I can translate for them.

While we are supposed to work at the kiosks, I sometimes make my way to the baggage drop-off shoot a few times per day so help some guest. This week, on Friday and Saturday, the shoots we down up to four at a time. The line up was crazy and guests were getting impatient. I had to suggest that they use the other drop off available at the airport but unfortunately that one was only for gates B27 or higher and most guests were not in that category. We then had to direct the guests to the single shoot on the side and I was responsible for make sure I hold the line so it was done in a orderly manner.
I met the cutest little girl this week! Normally when I meet kids at the airport they're either really excited about going on a trip or they just stay quiet but this little girl...

she was adorable! It honestly seemed as if the airport is her home.
She was so comfortable that this picture, she trying to operate the kiosk on her own! Did I mention that this particular flight happened to be her 108th? No big deal, right? Just 2 1/2 years old and she has taken off 108 times! Crazy!
