First day: woke up at 5:45 a.m.; got ready; left at 6:30 a.m. to catch the bus to go to the subway to catch another bus; took that bus for 58 stops only to arrive at my destination at 8:00 a.m. sharp. If you haven't caught on, it's an hour and a half commute to the airport from where I stay. How is that for On Time Performance? My training class began at 9:00 a.m. When I got there, I didn't know what to expect, however I was very excited. I had slept on time the night before to make sure I had all the necessary energy which I ended up having. David, our instructor, gave my group and I a tour of T3 (Terminal 3). We visited the domestic and international arrival areas, the trans-border departure and customs area and much more. On the second day, we shadowed the GSA (Guest Service Ambassador) role which was fun. On the third day, when we were going solo, I got my first paper cut! Those baggage tags are not a joke!
All in all week one was great if you ask me. It was really interesting to see how guests interacted with us knowing that were are now WestJetters. A lot of guests were confused when they saw Seneca on my name tag and lanyard. "How long have you been working here?" and "How is Seneca related to WestJet?"
These are the two questions I got every single day. I got different reactions when answering the first question. Since we are actually in the Flights program, we know a bit a more about the airport than expected for the amount of time we were there.
I love my team! We have really gotten to grasp and put into practice the One Team Concept.

Obviously I had to take a selfie of the moment I became a WestJetter. LOL

Casual picture of me holding the Gold and Plus guest sign. That dog behind me was the cutest! I never realized how many dogs go through the airport in a day until now.

I can't wait for my second week to begin. Because each day is so different in this environment, I know there are always going to be new experiences and that's really exciting!
